Lamisil 250 mg is an antifungal cream that contains terbinafine and is used to treat fungal infections of the skin. It is a generic antifungal drug and works by killing or stopping the growth of fungus. Terbinafine, a part of the fungal class, is found in many medications, including Lamisil. Terbinafine works by inhibiting the enzyme fungal cell membrane break down a fungal cell. This causes them to form a plug in the fungal cell called a called “fungal sac.” This fungal infection spreads quickly and can be deadly. Lamisil 250 mg works by stopping the fungal cell from multiplying, thus eliminating the chance of it spreading to other parts of the body.
Terbinafine, the active ingredient in Lamisil 250 mg, is a benzoyl peroxide topical agent. Terbinafine penetrates the skin more than once daily, meaning it can penetrate and penetrate deep into the skin, unlike alcohol and benzoyl peroxide.
